This is to give some history of the development of my individual style of creating paintings.

These are portraits depicting my fascination with the power of the human face which, for me, often lies at variance from the typical American idea of beauty.

Mine are strong works which are very personal to my view that beauty resides in al shapes and forms. Seen together, the faces represent a powerful, soul-stirring atmosphere. Some of my portraits are difficult, but all challenge the viewer to expand his/her idea of the human persona.

I believe that “Head Games” will be an important and dramatic mounted exhibition. It is sure to elicit a strong reaction and perhaps, a heated discussion as it challenges the viewers to examine personal ideas of the human form.

In my latest series of drawings, I explore intricate patterns within a dense field of abstraction. Some of the drawings are dominated by geometric forms, others by organic entities. There is an occasional word or set of numbers which have particular significance to me.

Tristan (my cat) and I, hope you enjoy the work presented in this online portfolio,
Sincerely,
Robert Frank Rohr
